ALMA, Mich.-  The Alma College women's tennis team opened the 2007 MIAA season by hitting the road and traveling to Adrian and defeating the Bulldogs 5-4.

The Maroon and Cream took four of the six singles matches.   Kelly Schwarzkopt picked up a solid win 6-1, 6-0.  Laura McKendry followed that up with a victory of her own ending her match with scores of 6-3, 6-2.  Emily Noss and Betsy Bulthuis also picked up wins with scores of 6-2, 6-3 and 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 respectively. 

The Scots only won one of the three doubles matches with the one win coming from McKendry and Bulthuis 8-4.   

Alma is now 3-0 overall and 1-0 in MIAA play.  The Scots return to action on Mar. 15 when the hit the road again to take on Aquinas College at 3 p.m.
