University Heights, OH – Alma College Women's Wrestling was in action on Sunday, taking part in the John Carroll Women's Open. The Scots secured four podium placers, highlighted by
Gabriella Allen's win at 180.
At 103,
Ava Pike lost her opening bout to Timi Coles via tech fall, before winning a pair of matches by fall over Taylor MacAdam of John Carroll, and Kyler Lamb of Mount Union, to place third in the weight class.
Mia Sharp returned to action at 110 pounds, winning her first bout against Clara Ealy of Bethany College, before losing via decision to Addy Crane from Mount Union, placing her second in the class.
Chloe Colton opened her day at 117 with a loss via decision to Taelor Rae Busch of Bethany College, before defeating Maddyn Thompson via tech fall, and Alfred State's Rowan Willis via fall. Madilyn Enterline of Washington and Jefferson then defeated Colton via fall, before she bounced back to pin Addison Paparella from Mount Union, placing fifth in the class.
At 138,
Ryen Allen lost her opening match to Talea Guntrum via tech fall. Allen proceeded to rip off five straight wins, starting with a tech fall win over Mount Union's Kat Hurley. She then pinned Mount Union's Ilani Jones-Wallace and Edinboro's Braylin Jones. She went on to defeat Addison Lyon of Mount Union, before pinning Annalis Ortez from Rio Grande to place 3
rd.

Amelia Howell opened with a loss to Nora Mooney of John Carroll.She rebounded with a win by fall over Kenzie Phasuphong of Washington and Jefferson, before her day came to an end with a loss to Alfred State's Brooke Walsh via tech fall.
At 145, Dawn DeGood lost her first bout via fall to Leslie Sullivan of John Carroll, before being pinned by Mount Union's Nadirra Matlock.
At 180,
Gabriella Allen won her first bout of the day over Hiram's Alashandra Williams via decision. She went on to defeat Alfred State's Madi Coz, Mount Union's Lori Grimes, and Point Park's Payton Moyer, all by fall. She won the weight class at 180.
Skye Picarski began at 207 with a loss to Zsuzsana Bourassa of Bethany College via tech fall. She went on to lose to Ka'Khia Matthews of Waynesburg via fall, before pinning Bourassa to take fifth place.
The Scots are back in action on February 7 and 8, closing out their regular season at the Quad Cities DIII National Invite.
