Women's Wrestling Wins First Individual Matches In Program History at Adrian Invite

Adrian, MI – Alma College Women's Wrestling traveled to Adrian College to take part in the Adrian Invite. Alma tied with rival Albion College for 13th on the day with 24.0 points.
 
Alma's top finisher was Mackenzie Burger. Wrestling at 101 pounds, Burger lost her opening round matchup via tech fall. Dropping into the consolation bracket, the freshman went on a tear. She defeated Skylynn Tomlinson of Elmira by fall at the 1:33 mark of the first period. Advancing, she then took down Alexis Hart-Butch of Adrian College, also by fall in the first, at 1:40. Her next match against Amber Turner of North Central College, also resulted in a pin for the Scots' 101-pounder. It was her fastest of the day at 1:05. Burger was then defeated, moving her to the 5th place match, where she was also defeated to finish 6th overall at 101 pounds. (13.5 Team Points Scored)
 
Jaclyn Dietz wrestled at 136 pounds. The fifth year lost her opening round match via tech fall, and was sent to the consolation bracket. Dietz then defeated Rayne Snyder of Trine University. Her first win in a Scots singlet came via fall just 20 seconds into the contest. Dietz followed that up with another win by fall over Tatiana Bermudez of Tiffin University at 1:47 of the first period. She was eliminated in the following match via fall. (5.5 Team Points Scored)
 
Clara Holtry was Alma's entry at 155 pounds. She advanced, winning her first match in the championship bracket. Erika Novak of Hiram was pinned by Holtry 37 seconds into the second period. Holtry was defeated by tech fall, sending her to the elimination bracket. She faced off against Genevieve Weikel of Aurora, pinning her in 1:08 to advance. Holtry was defeated in the next round, eliminating her. (5.0 Team Points Scored)
 
Alma takes home a solid finish, and looks to the Albion Invitational on November 19.
