On Wednesday October 25th the Alma College Men's Soccer Team closed out there season in a home contest against Hope College. 

The Scots played solid defensively in the first half, with keeper Leandro Vargas making two excellent saves in the first 3 minutes of the match. Hope would go one up in the 13th minute with a tap in goal from inside the 6 yard box, and would continue to apply pressure. Goalkeeping was the story of the game for the Scots. Leandro Vargas spent the rest of the first half matching prime Casillas logging 6 saves and Landon Soule would come in to make 3 more in the 2nd half.  Even though the goalkeeping was great the Flying Dutch would still be given 3 penalties to win the game 5-0 

The Scot's will end their season 4-11-2 and 1-6 in MIAA play in their first season under Newby. Junior Ethan Swartzentruber was the teams golden boot winner on the season scoring 6 goals on the year. Swartzentruber was also the leading playmaker on the team with 7 assists. Leandro Vargas led goalkeeping for the Scots with 68 saves on the year. Finally senior and captain Jack Lockerbie was the iron man for the team starting and playing in all 17 games only leaving the pitch for 60 minutes of gameplay all year. 

The Scots will look to improve in their 2024 campaign.
