Olivet, MI – Alma College Swimming took on Olivet on the road on Saturday. The Women were victorious by a solid 63 point margin, winning 138-65, while the Men fell short of the win, losing 123-78.
On the women's side, the relay team of Sofia Floros, Lily Smith, Dani Ries, and Abby Taylor combined to score a win in the 200 medley relay. Madilynn Mendez took 2nd in the 200 freestyle, and 2nd in the 500 freestyle as well. Alma picked up individual event wins across the board. Grace Ludema took home first in the 50 freestyle with a 25.85, and the 100 freestyle WITH A 56.49. Emily Diener grabbed a win in the 200 IM, clocking a 2:27.00. Dani Ries was victorious in the 100 fly, touching in1:04.88. Finally, Megan Neeley, and Lily Smith picked up a pair of wins in the 100 backstroke (1:05.59) and 100 breaststroke (1:15.37). Finally, the relay team of Ludema, Diener, Laney Voisinet, and Neeley combined to get the Scots one final win in the 400 free relay.
On the men's side, Eli Mull picked up the lone victory of the meet in the 1000 freestyle (10:23.66) , with Jack Knoper finishing close behind him (10:44.72). Ryan Gray achieved a 2nd place finish in the 200 free (1:57.11), and later grabbed another 2nd place finish in the 100 fly (56.11). Jon Beerbower took 3rd in the 50 free (24.85), before Matt Arrigoni grabbed a 2nd place as well in the 200 IM (2:08.43). Seth Stahl came in 2nd in the 500(5:30.64), and was followed by fellow Scots Tyler Horstman(5:52.84), and Xavier Tarvainen (6:29.18).
The Scots have pumped in another great performance, and will look to carry the momentum into next week at Calvin, where they will also see MIAA opponent Albion.
