Alma, MI – Alma College Swimming and Diving welcomed Kalamazoo College in for an MIAA dual meet. Alma's men were felled by the Hornets, with the Scots women picking up their first win over Kzoo since the 1993-94 season.
Women: Alma 137, Kalamazoo 94
On the women's side, the relay team of
Sofia Floros,
Lily Smith,
Emma Figlewicz, and
Grace Ludema combined to win the 200 medley relay to open the meet.
Megan Neeley took home 1
st place in the 1000 freestyle, also winning the 200 freestyle. Madi Mendez was 2
nd in the 1000 free, winning the 500.
Laney Voisinet was 2
nd in the 200 free, also taking 2
nd in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke. Ludema went on to win the 50 and 100 freestyle. Floros won the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke.
Emma Figlewicz took home a win in the 100 fly.
Kylie Demarets took 2
nd in the 500 freestyle.
Lily Smith claimed victory in the 100 breaststroke. To close the meet, Neeley, Demarets, Mendez, and
Anya Drewnicki won the 400 free relay.
Men: Kalamazoo 136, Alma 85
For the men, the relay team of
Andrew Barrett,
Kyle Scheck,
Max Nielsen, and
Sam Couch took 2
nd in the 200 medley relay.
Eli Mull won the 1000 freestyle and the 500 free.
Ryan Gray took 2
nd in the 1000 free.
Brent Riehl claimed victory in the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Couch was 2
nd in the 50 freestyle.
Andrew Barrett was 2
nd in the 100 fly. The relay team of Gray,
Max Nielsen, Mull, and Riehl took 2
nd in the 400 free relay.
Alma ends the regular season on a high, and looks forward to the MIAA Championships, beginning on February 19
th at Calvin University.
