Holland, MI – Alma College Swimming opened MIAA dual meet competition on Friday night against Hope College. The Scots were defeated by finals of 114-78 on the men's side, and 108-88 on the women's side.

For Alma's men,
Ryan Gray,
Kyle Scheck,
Max Nielsen, and
Andrew Barrett combined to open the meet with a 2
nd place finish in the 200 medley relay.
Brent Riehl claimed Alma's first victory of the night, winning the 50 freestyle, also winning the 100 breaststroke, and taking 2
nd in the 100 backstroke.
Owen Reed took 3
rd in the 200 IM, before also placing 2
nd in the 100 freestyle.
Seth Stahl took 1
st in the 500 free, with
Ryan Fowler taking 2
nd. Fowler would go on to team up with Reed, Barrett, and
Eli Mull, winning the 400 free relay.
Women: #13 Hope 108, Alma 88
For the women,
Sofia Floros,
Lily Smith,
Emma Figlewicz, and
Grace Ludema took 2
nd in the 200 medley relay. Madi Mendez placed 3
rd in the 1000 freestyle, also picking up podium honors in the 500 free.
Megan Neeley took 2
nd place in the 200 IM, also coming in 2
nd in the 100 backstroke.
Emma Figlewicz placed 3
rd in the IM, going on to take 2
nd in the 100 fly.
Megan Black picked up 3
rd in the 100 fly.
Grace Ludema scored a 2
nd place finish in the 100 free.
Laney Voisinet was 3
rd behind her, going on to take 2
nd in the 100 breaststroke.
Lily Smith scored the win in the 100 breast.
Sofia Floros picked up a win in the 500 freestyle. The group of Neeley,
Kylie Demarets, Floros, and
Isabel Lyshol closed out the meet with a victory in the 400 free relay.
Alma is off until November 9, when they travel to Indiana to take on Bethel University, and Aquinas College.
