Box Score Chicago, IL - Alma Men's Soccer travelled to Illinois Tech to take on the Scarlet Hawks on Monday, September 5th.
Alma was met by stiff opposition in a Scarlet Hawks team that came ready to play. The Hawks struck quickly and put Alma down 1-0 in the second minute of the game off of a ball that was loose in front of the net. Illinois Tech would keep Alma under constant pressure, outshooting the Scots 15-6 in the first half. The hosts would strike again in the 43rd minute to put Alma down 2-0 at the half. The Scarlet Hawks would score twice more in the 52nd, and 61st minutes to bring the score to 4-0, where it would stay until the final whistle.
Overall, Alma was outshot 25-10 on the afternoon, however were once again the better team in terms of accuracy levying 6 of their 10 shots on target (60%) compared to 9 of 25 for Illinois Tech (36%). Chris Henry stopped 5 of 9 and picked up the loss for Alma bringing his record to 1-1. The game was a physical one, with a total of 34 fouls being called between both sides, along with 5 yellow cards being given out.

The Scots move to 1-1 on the year, and will have some time off before traveling to Anderson University on September 10th.
