Box Score Whitewater, WI – Alma Men's Soccer traveled to Ohio on Friday to take on UW-Whitewater in nonconference play. The Scots lost to the Warhawks by a final of 3-1.
The teams battled back and forth early in the contest. The Warhawks struck first on a goal in the 25th from Dominic Mudlaff. Things would remain 1-0 until the dying stages of the game. In the 77th minute the hosts looked like they had closed things out when Will Hamilton scored off an assist from Jalen Holley. However, Joe Rawlin converted from the penalty spot in the 83rd to help the Scots stick their foot in the door. Ultimately the door would be slammed shut by the home side as Cooper Re scored in the 88th minute.
Alma was outshot 15-4 on the day, with the Scots scoring on their lone shot on goal. The Warhawks were called for 16 fouls on the day, with the Scots committing just 5.
Chris Henry picks up the loss, stopping 2 of 5 shots on goal, dropping to 2-5 on the season.
Alma drops to 2-5 on the year, and will look to close out nonconference play with a win against Elmhurst.
