Box Score Greencastle, IN – Men's Soccer took on Manchester University on the road on Sunday, September 11. The Scots fell 1-0 after 90 minutes.
The game was low scoring to say the least. Despite both teams lobbing a total of 20 shots at the net, only 4 of them made it on target. Shots on goal were 2 apiece, with Alma outshooting the hosts 13-7 in the contest. The Spartans would score the lone goal in the contest in the 39th minute, and the one goal lead would be enough to see them through to victory.
The Scots come away having played the better game on paper, but just not converting on the chances that they had in the game. They outshot the opposition 13-7, had 7 corners to Manchester's 1, and committed 6 fouls to 9 for the hosts.
Chris Henry made 1 save on 2 shots on target, taking the loss, and dropping to 2-2 on the season.
The Scots will have 6 days off before continuing on the road against Oberlin College on September 17th.
