Decatur, Ill.- The Alma College softball team played Millikin University on Sunday, May 15 for the sixth round of the 2022 NCAA Division III softball tournament. The Scots fell to the Big Blues, 8-1. Alma ends their season 27-15 overall and 12-4 in conference play.  

Millikin started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning off a double down the right field line to bring one run in. The Big Blues next hit grounded out, but a runner made it home to put them up 2-0.

Alma grabbed their only run of the game in the top of the second off a homer down the left field line from Hadyn Terwilliger (Mt. Pleasant, MI)  2-1.  

Millikin added a run in the bottom of the third off an unearned hit followed by three runs in the fourth inning off two hits. 

The Big Blues sealed the deal in the bottom of the sixth off a single up the middle to send two runners home for a final score of 8-1. 

Terwilliger had the only hit and only run of the game. Pitcher Haley Ullrich (Elk River, MN) allowed four hits and six runs for three innings pitched and Daniella Little (Wheaton, IL) had one strikeout, allowed three hits and two runs for two innings.
