Decatur, Ill.- The Alma College softball team traveled to Millikin University on Friday, May 13 for the first round of regionals in the 2022 NCAA Division III softball tournament to play Illinios College. The Scots fell to the Lady Blues, 4-0.

The first five inning were unanswered by either team until the top of the sixth inning. Illinois found the edge off a homer with two runners on base to bring three runs in, 3-0. The Lady Blues continued scoring in the seventh inning with a single down the left field line to bring one run in for a final score of, 4-0. 

Taylor Griffith (Grand Rapids, MI), Amelia Price (Milford, MI), and Aynslee Koutz (St. Louis, MI) each grabbed one hit for the Scots. Pitcher Haley Ullrich (Elk River, MN) posted five strikeouts and allowed five hits and three runs for five innings. Daniella Little added three strikeouts, one hit and one run for two innings. 

Next, Alma plays Ohio Northern University on Saturday, May 14 at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
