ANGOLA, Ind. – The Alma College softball team traveled to Trine University on Wednesday, April 27 for a doubleheader. The Scots fell to the Thunder, 4-0 and 10-2.

The first game was all Thunder with four runs. Trine added a run in the bottom of the first, fourth, fifth, and sixth inning to end the game at 4-0. Pitcher Haley Ullrich (Elk River, MI) had six strikeouts and allowed nine hits.

The second game started with two runs from the Thunder in the second inning. Alma responded with their two runs of the game starting with a single from Ullrich and a double to center field from Taylor Griffith (Grand Rapids, MI). Emma Fraser (Alpena, MI) then singled up the middle to bring Griffith and Ullrich to home plate, 2-2. 

Trine added four runs in the fourth inning off two hits followed by two runs in both the fifth and six inning for a final score of 10-2. 

Griffith led the second game with three hits and one run. Fraser added one hit and two RBIs while pitcher Daniella Little (Wheaton, IL) posted six strikeouts.

Next, the Alma Scots head to the MIAA tournament starting on Thursday, May 5.
