Holland, MI – Alma College Swimming was on the road on Friday to take on Hope and Albion in double-dual action. The men and the women fell to both Hope and Albion.
Women
Despite Hope sweeping the wins in their dual meet, the Scots picked up several wins over Albion throughout the day. Megan Neeley, Emily Diener, Dani Ries, and Grace Ludema teamed up to win the 200 medley relay over Albion in a time of 1:58.50. Neeley turned around and posted a 2:05.52 to win the 200 freestyle. After a handful of Albion wins, Marissa Luzac won the 200 IM with a time of 2:32.97. After the first break, Laney Voisinet became the third Scot to pick up an individual event win, winning the 100 free over. After another pair of Albion wins, Emily Diener and Lily Smith combined to throw down a 1-2 in the 100 breaststroke.
Men
Hope swept all the event victories over Alma en route to the win. The Scots were able to post several event wins against Albion to go alongside some solid time drops in the pool. Andrew Ludden grabbed a win in the 100 fly, putting up a time of 56.63. Jack Knoper and Brent Riehl combined to score big points with a 1-2 finish in the 100 backstroke. Knoper posed a 1:01.27, just ahead of Riehl with a 1:01.54. Nate Sutton finished the 500 free in a time of 5:05.25. to take victory, finishing just 5 seconds behind Hope to take 2nd overall in the event. After the second break the Scots grabbed a second straight win with Nate Toth snagging a victory in the 100 breast. His 1:05.33 edged out his Albion counterpart by under 0.2 seconds.
The Scots continue to drop time in the pool and take large steps forward as the season progresses. The Scots will be back in action on December 2nd at the Carthage Classic.
