Box Score 1 Alma, Mich. - The Alma College softball team fell to Trine University at Scots Park in a double header for the MIAA conference. Alma is now 20-12 overall and finishes the conference season with a 8-6 record.
For the first game, the Scots were unable to score against Trine University and the game was 5-0. Haley Ullrich faced 34 batters and had 7 strikeouts with 75 strikes thrown.
The Scots did have two hits for the day. Ullrich and Danielle Dumoulin had a double each. Brooke Wells also had a sacrifice bunt to try and push around a run for the Scots.
For the second game, the Scots started off strong with a single from Emma Fraser to centerfield and scored Taylor Griffith for the first run of the game. Trine answered back and made the game 3-1.
Then Trine continued to make the score 6-1 in the bottom of the third. Hannah Fleming fired up the scots with a two-run homerun and made the game 6-3.
In the bottom of the fourth, Trine upped the score 12-3. Taylor Griffith hit a single up the middle and scored Teah Lint. The final score was 12-4.
Scots are home for their next double header on April 30th against Anderson University. The first game starts at 3 pm and the second is to follow.
