Alma, Mich.- The Alma College softball team took two against Albion College on April Saturday, giving them two more wins in the MIAA conference. Alma is now 8-4 in MIAA play and 20-10 overall.
Before the game, the Scots honored their senior class of Jenna Steinhoff, Morgan Dubay, and Hannah Cambe.
For the first game, Haley Ullrich started the game off strong with a homerun for the Scots and made the game 1-0.
The Britons didn't answer back until the top of the sixth and tied the game up. Finally, after a hard fought 8 innings, right fielder Jessica Eva hit a walk off single to win the game and make the score 2-1. Ullrich threw 97 strikes in the game and faced 34 batters.
For the second game against Albion, the top of the first inning Ullrich was able to reach home on a throwing error by the third basemen and make the score 1-0. Hadyn Terwilliger had a sacrifice bunt and Brooke Wells was able to score on a throwing error by the second basemen.
For the Brits, the bottom of the first, they answered back and made the game 2-2. Then the Scots answered back with a double from Wells in the top of the third, along with Danielle Dumoulin singling to left field. The Scot made the score 4-2. Erin Ezell followed her teammates and doubled and made the score 5-2.
Finally for the Scots, Hannah Falejczyk singled to right center and brought in two more runs in the top of the seventh inning and made the game 7-2. The Brits were unable to score after that.
Scots are home for their next double header on Sunday against Trine University. The first game starts at 2 pm and the second is to follow after.
