Box Score 2 CINCINNATI, Ohio. - The Alma College softball team played a doubleheader against Mount St. Joseph University. They came out strong in game one, winning 5-1. The Scots then lost the second game, 6-2.
Haley Ullrich pitched a complete game in the opener, allowing zero earned runs on three hits while striking out six batters.
In the first game, Hannah Fleming doubled to left field, bringing home Taylor Griffith to score a run in the third inning.
In the sixth, Hannah Falejczyk brought home a run a sac bunt. Then, Ullrich knocked in a score on double. The final run for the Scots came when Aynslee Koutz drove in a run on sac fly.
In the seventh, Emma Fraser hit a ball over the right field wall for Alma's first home run of the season. Ullrich then closed it out to seal the victory.
In the second game, Taylor Griffith and Fraser each had one RBI. In the third inning, Fraser doubled to left center, sending Griffith home. In the fifth, Griffith singled down the right field line, sending Morgan Dubay in for a run.
On the mound, Daniella Little was the starting pitcher, she pitched four innings and struck out five. Fraser pitched the last two innings and struck out five.
Up next, the Scots will be heading to Indiana to face Anderson University in a doubleheader. The first game will begin at 1:00pm.
