Box Score 2 FRANKLIN, IND. The Alma College Softball Team played a doubleheader against Franklin College, they dropped the first game, 10-3. They were able to come back swinging in the second game, winning 7-3.
In the first game, Anyslee Koutz made the team's first base hit with a double. The third inning was impressive for the Scots at bat with big plays from Daniella Little, Hannah Fleming and Hadyn Terwilliger. Terwilliger earned the team's only RBI of the game. She grounded out to the shortstop, bringing Little in for a run and advancing two other players. Wheaton native Little was the only player to steal a base for the Scots, stealing second.
Haley Ullrich's first at bat in the 5th inning, set up a chance for some big plays on offense. She opened the inning by singling. This led to Terwilliger's hit that brought Hannah Solomon and Ullrich in for runs, which didn't count as an RBI because Terwilliger reached base due to left field error.
On the other side of the ball, Little faced 16 batters as the starting pitcher for the Scots. Ullrich, Alma's second pitcher, faced 21 batters and kept 7 batters from making it to base.
In the second game, Fleming started the Scots base-hitting with a double. Terwilliger doubled, bringing Fleming in for the first run of the game. The Scots continued to make big plays with Griffith singling in the 2nd inning, bringing Koutz in right after her second double of the day. Hannah Falejczyk also helped to bring in 2 runs in the 3rd inning.
There were four RBIs for the Scots, Terwilliger, Ullrich, Koutz and Taylor Griffith each got one.
All seven runs were scored by seven different players. These players include Fleming, Terwilliger, Jessica Eva, Chloe Deckrow, Laiken Ex, Falejczyk and Koutz.
On the other side of the ball, Emma Fraser earned the win with five innings pitched. Ullrich picked up the save by retiring the final six batters while striking out four.
