OLIVET, MIch. – The Alma College softball team faced off with Trine University and Olivet College in another tripleheader. Alma lost to Trine, 3-1 and defeated Olivet College, 8-1. Neither one of these games effect Alma's conference standing.
In the first game, Trine was leading Alma into the 6th inning. Then Hadyn Terwilliger singled to left field and brought Teah Lint in for a run. Terwilliger earned the only RBI for the Scots.
On the mound, Haley Ullrich played all 6 innings and struck out 8 batters.
In the second game, Alma scored first in the bottom of the 2nd inning with Amelia Price singling to the pitcher, advancing Hannah Fleming to third, and bringing in Aynslee Koutz in for a run. Olivet responded by scoring their only run of the game in the top of the third. In the bottom of the third, Alma scored 4 runs beginning with Koutz singling to right field, advancing to second on the throw, and bringing in Hadyn Terwilliger for a run. Danielle Dumoulin singled to left center and earned 2 RBIs by bringing in Aynslee Koutz and Emma Fraser for runs.
The Scots scored 3 more runs in the bottom of the 5th.
Koutz led the Scots in runs (3). Daniella Little, Hannah Cambe, Laiken Ex, Terwilliger, and Fraser each scored runs for the Alma.
Hannah Solomon, Terwilliger, Koutz, Dumoulin (2), Price and Cambe each earned RBIs.
There were three pitchers for the Scots, Emma Fraser started the game off, striking out one batter and pitching for 3.2 innings. Little took the mound after her, pitching 2.1 innings, allowing 0 runs and striking out one batter. Nevada Kennedy took the mound for the last inning and struck out one batter.
