Men's Soccer Tripped up at Wisconsin-Whitewater

Whitewater, Wisc. - The Alma College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Wisconsin-Whitewater Monday (Sept. 2) afternoon. The Scots are 1-2 on the young season while Whitewater improves to 2-0 with two shutouts.

Senior keeper Garrison Mast (Grand Haven, Mich. / Grand Haven) made nine saves in the contest, the most he's had in a game this year. Alma was limited to three shots on goal, one from senior Kyle Costigan (East Tawas, Mich. / Tawas Area), one from senior Torsten Holland (Okemos, Mich. / Haslett) and one from sophomore Danten McFate (Haslett, Mich. / Haslett). This is the first time the Scots have been shutout this season.

The Warhawks are coming off a season in which it went 13-5-1 and averaged 3.50 goals per game.

Alma takes to the road once more this weekend. It will travel to Carthage College to play the Knox College Prairie Fire on Saturday (Sept. 7) and the Carthage Big Red on Sunday (Sept. 8).
