Alma, Mich. - The Alma College men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Hope College on Tuesday (Oct. 22) afternoon. Connor McCain (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Central) scored the Scots' only goal and Garrison Mast (Grand Haven, Mich. / Grand Haven) made five saves.

Hope's Logan Bylsma started the scoring in the 17th minute off an assist from Alec Belcastro. Belcastro scored, himself, six minutes later.

McCain's goal came in the 69th minute to cut the lead in half. Alma continued to apply pressure for the next 20 minutes but was unable to come up with the tying goal.

Hebren Hein (Jackson, Mich. / Jackson) led all Alma players with three shots. Hein, McCain and Torsten Holland (Okemos, Mich. / Haslett) all registered shots on goal.

Alma plays its final home game of the season on Saturday (Oct. 26) against Adrian College. The match is set to begin at 2:30 p.m.
