Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Alma College men's soccer team fell to Kalamazoo 1-0 on Tuesday (Sept. 19) evening. Sophomore goalkeeper Garrison Mast (Grand Haven, Mich. / Grand Haven) made six saves in the game, two off his career-high set at Aurora earlier this year.

The Scots are still searching for their first win of the season; they sit at 0-5-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Kalamazoo is now 2-4-1 and 1-2.

What Happened

• Both teams held each other scoreless until the 70th minute. Kalamazoo's Tim Jeske took a throw-in on the left side of the box, turned quickly and shot past Mast's left side to the far post. It was the freshman's first career goal.

Notables

• Mast played all 90 minutes and made six stops on seven shots. His save percentage was 85.7 percent, the best of his two-year career in any game he has seen at least five shots.
• Jake Geary (Novi, Mich. / Novi), Sam Huver (Traverse City, Mich. / Traverse City Central) and Noah Canlas (Naperville, Ill. / Naperville Central) were all given yellow cards in the match. It is the second for Geary this season and the first for both Huver and Canlas.
• Seven Alma players took a shot in the game.
