On Friday evening, the Alma College men's soccer team hosted Northwood University in a exhibition match at Scotland Yard. In front of a large and raucous crowd, the Scots dropped a tightly played 1-0 affair that was a glimpse into what should be a very exciting season in Mid-Michigan.

Alma finished with 14 total shots, including eight on goal to the Timberwolves' 12 total and seven on net. Northwood scored the lone goal of the game at 36:14 on a shot by Jack Smith.

Leading the way offensively for the Scots was Jr. MF Matt Sovis (Williamston/Williamston) who had four shots and two on goal, while So. F Tyler Raab (Mason/Mason) added two on net and three overall.

In net, Sr. GK Brett Galloway (Clinton Township/Chippewa Valley) and So. GK Nick Strait (Jenison/Jenison) each had three saves.

The Scots, led by Head Coach Josh Oakley, will host their annual alumni game tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. at Scotland Yard before opening up their 2014 campaign at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology next Friday evening.
