On Sunday afternoon, Ohio Wesleyan University traveled to Alma to take on the Scots in a non-league doubleheader at Scots Park. The Scots took game one by a score of 10-1 in five innings and then shutout the Battling Bishops 8-0 in five in the nightcap.

Today's games completed the regular season for Alma with an overall record of 25-9 and 13-3 in the MIAA, while the Battling Bishops left town with a 2013 mark of 13-21 and they are 6-10 in the NCAC.

The Scots will now set their sights on the MIAA Tournament, which begins Thursday. Alma is the #2 seed and will take on #3 seed Adrian College at 11:00 at Trine University in Angola, Ind. The host Thunder, the #1 seed, will play #4 seed Hope College at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Today also marked Pink Day 2013 for Cancer Awareness. Each of the players wore shirts that had names on the back of people in their lives who have been affected by the disease.

In game one, the Scots scored a single run in the bottom of the second as Jr. pinch runner Chanler McCaskey (Morenci, Mich./Morenci) scored on a single by Sr. SS Erin Rodes (Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth). Alma took advantage of an OWU error in securing the run.

After a scoreless top of the third, Alma exploded for nine runs on eight hits and two Ohio Wesleyan miscues. The Scots sent 13 batters to the plate in the inning and the Scots had a commanding 10-0 lead.

Seven players had RBI's in the frame for the Scots - Sr. 2B Kayla Smart (Jenison, Mich./Jenison), Fr. 1B Abi Clark (Clinton, Mich./Clinton), So. C Cori Witham (N. Muskegon, Mich./N. Muskegon), McCaskey, Rodes, Jr. OF Allie Jo Nave (Onaway, Mich./Onaway) and Sr. RF Amanda Schneider (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay).

Those runs would be all that the Scots needed as they cruised to a five-inning 10-1 victory. Sr. P Louise Rezmer (Essexville, Mich./Bay City All-Saints) pitched four shutout innings to improve to 14-4 on the season, as she allowed just two hits and had two strikeouts. Fr. McKenna Terrill (Marcellus, Mich./Marcellus) pitched the final inning and gave up one earned run on one hit and walk.

Schneider (two doubles), Witham and Rodes each had two hits in the win, while McCaskey scampered across the plate twice.

The nightcap had the same eventual result but was more spread out in terms of runs for the Scots. The team scored two runs in the bottom of the first as Lusk had a sacrifice fly for an RBI and Smart knocked in Hein on a fielder's choice to make it 2-0.

Alma scored on in the bottom of the second and led 3-0 until the bottom of the fourth inning. The Scots added two runs on a single by Clark that knocked in Lusk and So. PR Marie Zill (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) for a 5-0 advantage.

The Scots closed out the game in the bottom of the fifth on three runs and four hits and one error. So. PH Hannah Hybl (Central Lake, Mich./Charlevioux) singled in Nave and Fr. C Kayla Merice (Dorr, Mich./Wayland) for two RBI's. Jr. PH Christina Snoblen (Alma, Mich./Alma) then singled in Schneider for a final run to win the game by a margin of 8-0.

So. P Breu Olling (Breckenridge, Mich./Breckenridge) pitched all five innings to earn the shutout victory. She allowed just two hits and had one walk to improve to 2-0 this season. The leader of the 12-hit attack for the Scots was Schneider, who went three for four with two runs and one RBI.
