The Scots Softball team completed the suspended game against Trine University on Friday morning and made quick work of it. Alma led 4-1 as the game resumed in the bottom of the sixth inning and scored five runs in the frame to mercy the Thunder by a score of 9-1.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., the Scots will play the Thunder again after Trine defeated Adrian in an elimination game this afternoon. 

The Alma College Softball team began the MIAA Tournament on Thursday when they played Adrian College down in Angola, Ind. The Scots defeated the Bulldogs 5-1 and the number two seed now has an overall record of 26-11 after being 11-5 in the league. Adrian's record is now of 22-16 after finishing 10-6 in the MIAA.

Against Adrian, the Bulldogs scored a run in the top of the second but the Scots answered with single tallies in the bottom halves of the second and third. Alma put away the game with one run in the fifth and two in the sixth to secure the 5-1 victory.

Jr. P Louise Rezmer (Essexville, Mich./Bay City All-Saints) pitched a complete game and gave up six hits and had seven strikeouts in securing the win. Sr. C Becca Dewyse (Bay City, Mich./All Saints) came up huge, going three for three and had had three RBI's in sparking the victory. Jr. Amanda Schneider (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay) finished two for three with two RBI's.
