| Box Score 2

In the ultimate elimination game of the 2012 MIAA Softball Tournament, the Alma College team avenged an earlier 3-2 loss to host Trine, and defeated the Thunder by a score of 2-1 to win the championship and earn the league's automatic qaulifier berth to the NCAA Tournament.

The Scots advance to the regional that Alma College will host next weekend and the bracket will be announced on Monday. They don't know who they will play, but the one thing the Scots know is that they will be home.

"It is big to be able to sleep in your own beds and have the home fans supporting you to make it a more relaxed atmosphere, plus we get to promote our new facility" said Alma Head Coach Denny Griffin. "Our team played well from top to bottom and our dugout was great. I cannot say enough about Louise as she put us on her back and got through it."

In the elimination game, Jr. P Louis Rezmer (Essexville, Mich./Bay City All-Saints) went the distance, giving up five hits and striking out eight Trine batters. The winning run came in the bottom of the sixth inning when Sr. CF Camille Dittmar (Highland, Mich./Milford) walked, allowing PR Chanler McCaskey (Morenci, Mich./Morenci) to score the winning run.

In the earlier game against Trine, Sr. Emily Ross (Buchanan, Mich./Buchanan) hit a homerun for the Scots in the 3-2 loss, while Rezmer pitched 6.2 innings with seven strikeouts in the loss.
