Box Score 1 On Saturday afternoon, the Alma College Women's Softball team hosted MIAA rival Albion College at Scots Park. It was Senior Day 2012 for four Scots student athletes who were honored before the first game. Alma won both games of the doubleheader by scores of 10-3 and 9-1 in five innings to improve to 21-9 overall and 9-3 in the MIAA, while the Britons left town with a record of 11-21 in 2012 and 4-4 in the league.
The four seniors that were recognized before game one included Becca DeWyse (Bay City, Mich./All-Saints), Camille Dittmar (Highland, Mich./Milford), Erin Pintek (Flushing, Mich./Flushing) and Emily Ross (Buchanan, Mich./Buchanan).
The Scots took care of business by winning both games of the league doubleheader. One of the highlights of the wins came when Ross hit an inside the park grand slam homerun in game two that put the Scots in place for the sweep.
With finals week and graduation ahead this week, Alma will not play again until April 23 at Heidelberg University (OH) at 3:30 p.m.
