Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

The Alma College Softball team hit the road on a sunny, warm March afternoon on Friday and took two games from host Bluffton (Ohio) to improve their season record to 10-2. The Scots won by scores of 4-0 in the first game and 5-2 in the nightcap, knocking the Beavers to 8-8 in 2012.

"I believe our kids played well today after not playing for almost two weeks since our Florida trip," said Alma Head Coach Denny Griffin. "It was nice to get Louise back out into the circle and she did well. We had some big hits that gave us the ability to get the two wins today and that is important. It is too bad that the games at Baldwin-Wallace won't work out due to their field, but we will look to add a couple of games to our schedule."

The Scots won the first game 4-0, as Jr. P Louise Rezmer (Essexville, Mich./Bay City All-Saints) went the distance, giving up just five hits, with five strikeouts and one walk. Jr. OF Amanda Schneider (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay) was two for four with two runs batted in and a run scored., while, Jr. IF Kayla Smart (Jenison, Mich./Jenison) added an RBI. Jr. IF Erin Rodes (Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth) went two for four in the first game victory.

In the nightcap, Fr. P Breu Olling (Breckenridge, Mich./Breckenridge) picked up the victory by pitching 6.2/3 innings and allowing just two earned runs. Rezmer picked up the save by getting the last out of the contest and preserving the Alma victory against the Beavers.

Schneider went two for four with two runs scored and Rodes also finished two for four with a run across the plate in the win. Sr. 1B Emily Ross (Buchanan, Mich./Buchanan) had two hits, two runs batted in and a run scored, while Jr. IF Shelby O'Dowd (Jenison, Mich./Jenison) contributed an RBI for Alma.
