ALMA SOFTBALL SWEEPS CALVIN, WIN GAME TWO 10-2 IN SIX INNINGS

The Alma Softball team defeated Calvin College twice on Friday afternoon to complete their MIAA league schedule with a record of 11-3. The Scots won the first game by a score of 4-0, and won the nightcap by a score of 10-2 in six innings.

Alma will now play in the Wheaton (IL) Invitational on Saturday with games against host Wheaton and Wisconsin-Whitewater during the day. The two games will conclude the regular season for the Scots.

The MIAA Tournament will begin on April 30, with the four teams set to contend for the Championship - Adrian, Alma, Hope and Trine. The only question left to settle is where the tournament will take place. If Trine wins both of their games against Saint Mary's on Saturday, they will take the title outright and host next week.

If Trine were to stumble tomorrow and split against the Belles, there would be a three-way tie for first place with Adrian, Alma and Trine - but the Scots win the tiebreaker and would host the tourney. If Trine is swept by Saint Mary's, then Alma and Adrian are co-champs and the Scots host.

Stay tuned for the fun ride ahead!!
