HOLLAND, Mich. - They made it interesting, you have to give them that. The 2006 Alma College softball team ended the MIAA season with three games today (May 6) in Holland. Opening with a  4-2 defeat of St. Mary's to move to the championship game against Hope in MIAA Tournament play where the Scots defeated the Flying Dutch 5-4 to force a second and final championship game.

Alma made it close, but close won't count as the Scots ultimately lost to the Dutch 6-5 to move to 26-13 for the season.

Talk about heartbreakers, the Scots had it all tied up in the final game against Hope, 5-5, but the Dutch added the go-ahead run in the bottom of six and the Scots went down 1-2-3 in the seventh to end the game and MIAA Championship hopes.
