Alma, MI – For the first time in the 2026 season, Alma College Baseball is receiving votes in the Division III national top 25 poll, following the Scots' three-game sweep of nationally ranked conference leader Kalamazoo College over the weekend.
The Scots won 7-6 (11 innings) and 4-3 (7 innings) at Alma on Saturday, before winning 7-6 at Kalamazoo on Sunday.
At 25-11-1, Alma received two voting points in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 poll, ranking them at 42
nd in the country. Denison University remained in the No. 1 spot with 625 points and all 25 first-place votes. They were followed by Lynchburg (590) and UW–Whitewater (571).
Within the MIAA landscape, Kalamazoo College landed at No. 11, dropping five slots from No. 6 after being swept by the Scots. Adrian College jumped from No. 20 to No. 17.
The Scots enter the polls ahead of an MIAA championship opportunity in the final series of the regular season. At 13–5 in conference play, Alma is tied with Kalamazoo for 2
nd place in the league, with Adrian leading at 14-4. The Scots swept the series against Kzoo 3-0 and won the season series against Adrian 2-1. With just three games remaining for all three of the contenders, Alma would need to exit the weekend with the same results as Kalamazoo and win one more game than Adrian to clinch a share of their first MIAA championship since 1999.

The Scots now shift their attention to their final regular season opponent, Albion College. The Britons are 21-16 on the year, 9-9 in MIAA conference play. Albion is currently 4
th in the conference, holding the last MIAA tournament slot by two games over Olivet.
