Women's Lacrosse Felled by Spalding

Alma lost 9-2 on Thursday eveningg

Lousiville, KY – Alma College Women's Lacrosse was in action on Thursday night, taking on Spalding University to round out their spring break trip. The Scots were defeated 9-2 on the night.
 
It took the hosts a while to hit the scoreboard, but when they did, Spalding scored three goals in a minute and twenty seconds. The lead was at 4-0 before Makayla Kozal found the back of the net, cutting the deficit to 4-1 at the end of the first. The home side added two more goals, keeping Alma off the board. The lead was 6-1 at halftime, and made its way to 8-1 at the end of three quarters. Sarah Bollinger scored with 9:14 to play, but the Scots were unable to climb back into things, with the final score coming to 9-2.
 
Jordan Cleveland picked up a career high nine ground balls in the loss, also causing three turnovers and collecting two draw controls. Makenna Pobocik and Bollinger each picked up five ground balls, and Bollinger caused three turnovers. Pobocik collected a team high four draw controls.
 
In the net, Madison Ramirez (2-2) made five saves on 14 shots faced.
 
The Scots return home, and are back in action on March 21 against Oberlin.
