Smith Earns First Team All-American Honors as Bowling Concludes at Club Nationals

Rockford, IL - Alma College Bowling concluded the 2025-26 season over the weekend, taking part in Club Nationals. Alma's Morgan Smith was named a first team all-american for her efforts over the weekend.

The weekend was comprised entirely of games in the baker format. Alma opened with pool play on Saturday, taking part in the Dye Pool. The Scots bowled five baker games, one against each tem in the pool, and totaled 3,564 pins. The Scots earned team points in the three of their matches, defeating San Jose State, UTSA, and Michigan State, while falling to Purdue University and Coe College. Alma ended up taking 2nd in the pool after tying with Purdue on team points, as the Scots totaled 21 more pins than the Boilermakers, with Coe College claiming the top slot.

Moving in to bracket play, Alma's strong pool performance earned them a first round bye. In the second round, Alma ran into a Grand Valley State University team that finished 3rd in their pool on Saturday. The Scots were felled 3-1 in a best-of-five format, dropping down to the contender's bracket. Resuming play on Sunday morning, the Scots avenged their prelim round loss to Purdue, sweeping the Boilermakers 2-0 in a best-of-three format. Alma's day came to a close when the Scots were defeated 2-0 by Ohio State University.

The Scots conclude their season with a strong nationals showing, and look forward to 2026-27.
