TIFFIN, Ohio – On the road for the second time of the season, the Alma College men's lacrosse team traveled to Ohio for a battle with the Student Princes of Heidelberg University. The Scots hung tight through the half, though a late push by Heidelberg sent the Scots back to Michigan looking for their first win of the season. 

Alma scored the first goal of the game, coming man-down from freshman Elias Rakoczy, scoring his first collegiate goal just below the nine-minute mark of the first. Heidelberg responded with the next two goals including a buzzer beater coming at the end of the first half. Alma's second goal came from Cuyler Fielhauer, this time man-up for the freshman's first career goal with an assist from Patrick Hodges, tying the game at twos. 

After a low scoring first half, Heidelberg found their stride, scoring seven unanswered goals in the third quarter and adding another in the fourth before the Scots added another to the board. Fielhauer scored hisnsecond of the game with eight minutes left in the fourth before completing the hat-trick with one-minute left on a man-up goal with an assist from Rakoczy. Alma's fourth quarter goals were not enough as the Student Princes came away with a win over the Scots by a final score of 13-4.

Fielhauer was the Scots leading point scorer with three goals while Rakoczy added a goal and an assist. Connor Cracium and Curtis Pleiness each collected four ground balls while Hodges recorded two caused turnovers to lead Alma. Preston Stelljes made five saves in 40 minutes of action while Gaven Atkins made three saves in the remaining time. 

Alma will now look to their home opener against Lawrence University, set for Sunday, February 22nd, to jump into the win column. Face off is slated for 3:00 PM.
