Men's Soccer Explodes for Four Goals in Win Over Thiel

Greenville, PA - Alma College Men's Soccer wrapped up their weekend trip to Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon. The Scots defeated Thiel by a score of 4-2.

The game saw Alma take an early lead when Fabinho Vasco scored his first career goal in the 27th minute, with an assist from Kaiden Link. That 1-0 lead was good to see Alma through to halftime.

Out of the break, the Scots needed 20 minutes to find the back of the net once more. This time it was an unassisted marker from Christian Sweis, his first of the year, that doubled the Alma lead in the 66th minute. Leading 2-0, Brendan Dore scored four minutes later off a Ryker Anderson helper to make it 3-0 Scots.

Thiel managed a pair of goals separated by four minutes, tighten things up, but Luis Parra Jr.'s 89th minute goal put the game to bed at 4-2.

Alma outshot the hosts 16-11 in the contest, and put nine shots on target compared to Thiel's five. The Scots' relentless pressure also resulted in the visitors winning the corner kick battle 6-3.

Bradshaw Uhlmann played all 90 minutes, and made three saves in the win.

The Scots move to 1-1-1, and look forward to their home opener against Grace Christian on Thursday evening.
