North Manchester, IN - Alma College Men's Soccer opened the 2025 season on Wednesday night at Manchester University. In a tight game, the Scots dueled the Spartans to a scoreless 0-0 tie.
The game was fairly balanced throughout, with the statistics giving Alma a slight edge. The Scots out-shot Manchester 5-4 in the first half, and 6-4 in the second half, taking an overall lead of 11-8 in the shot department. Alma also led the shots-on-goal category 6-3, but were unable to best the Spartans keeper. Corners were 6-5 in favor of MU.
JJ Riggsby took two of Alma's shots on target as the offensive leader on the night, and
Alex Zatelli was the only field player to play all 90 minutes in the tie.
Bradshaw Uhlmann collected his first clean sheet of the season, saving all three Spartan shots on goal, including a last ditch effort with two seconds remaining in the game.
Alma starst the year off 0-0-1, and looks forward toa swing through Pennsylvania over the weekend for a pair of games.
