Albion, MI – Alma College Tennis opened their 2025-26 season on Saturday at the Albion Doubles Invite. The Scots recorded solid results on both the men's and women's side.
On the men's side, the Scots #1 doubles pairing of
Jake Lasceski and
Ashton Trnka went 4-2 in the Brit draw, winning the bracket via tiebreaker, having defeated the #1 Albion duo head-to-head. Alma's #2 pairing of
Alex Jonas and
John Laxton were also in the Brit draw, coming in tied for 3
rd with a 3-3 record on the day. In the purple draw, the #3 pairing of
Christian Beyers and
Eli Festerling picked up a 3
rd place finish, going 3-2 on the day. In the Gold draw, the #4 pair of
Logan Stack and
Daniel Hickey went 2-3, and the #5 pairing of
Jacob McNew and Joe Burrel went 1-5.
For the women's team, the #1 pairing of
Karly Kushner and
Leah Wronikowski went 4-1, winning the Brit draw. The #2 pairing of
Kayden Alli and
Izzy Troost went 3-2 in the Brit draw as well. In the Purple draw, the #3 team of
Holly Hall and
Mellany Hall went 2-3, and the #4 pairing of
Laney Voisinet and
Salma Laraichi posted a 3-2 record. Rounding things out in the Gold draw, the pairing of
Sophia Hauffe and
Grace Carter-Williams went 3-2.
The Scots are back in action on Sunday the 21
st, hosting Indiana Southeast.
