Grand Rapids, MI – Alma College Men's Tennis was on the road Saturday to take part in the MIA Men's Tennis Tournament. This was Alma's first postseason action since the 2015 season on the men's side. The Scots were defeated by the 3-seed Calvin, 4-0.
In doubles play, the Knights claimed the team point, sweeping the three matches.
Jake Lasceski and
Ashton Trnka were defeated at #1, 6-2. An identical 6-2 score saw
Tatenda Mukudu and
August Sack fall at #2, and the #3 pairing of
Eli Festerling and
John Laxton were dropped 6-4.
In singles play, Lasceski was defeated 6-2, 6-0 at #1. Festerling fell at #3 by the same scoreline of 6-2, 6-0. The #6 matchup ended things as Laxton fell 6-2, 6-1 to clinch the match for Calvin, bringing all other action to a halt per playoff regulations.
Alma ends the season at 4-14, and looks forward to 2025-26.
