Angola, IN — Alma College Men's Soccer was on the road on Wednesday night, battling to a 2–2 draw against Trine University in MIAA play. The draw snaps a nine-game losing streak to the Thunder in the head-to-head series.
The Scots wasted little time getting on the board. In just the seventh minute, Gavyn Moore struck first for Alma, finishing off a pass from Mika McCallister to give the visitors an early 1–0 advantage. Alma carried that momentum through much of the first half, limiting Trine's chances and holding the narrow lead into the break.
The Thunder equalized in the 62nd minute, knotting the match at one goal apiece. Alma regained the upper hand late in the second half. In the 80th minute, Fletcher Van Howe shed a setup from Ryker Anderson and Alexander Lopes to put the Scots back in front, 2–1.
However, the Thunder found an answer once again just five minutes later, putting things level at 2–2, a scoreline that held through the closing whistle.
Trine outshot Alma 16–9, including a 9–4 edge in shots on goal. Landon Soule turned away seven attempts to help preserve the draw.
With the result, Alma moves to 6-6-2, 0-2-1 in MIAA play. The Scots return to action on Saturday when they host Adrian College.
