Franklin, IN – Alma College Tennis was on the road on Sunday, taking on Franklin College to round out their Fall schedule. The men were defeated 4-3, while the women came out 6-1 victors.
On the men's side, Franklin claimed the doubles point. At #1,
Jake Lasceski and
Ashton Trnka lost 6-4. The #2 pairing of
Alex Jonas and
John Laxton fell 6-2, and the #3 duo of
Christian Beyers and
Eli Festerling dropped their match 6-4.
In singles play, Lasceski fell at #1 by scores of 6-3, 6-3. Trnka lost at #2, 6-2, 6-3. Jonas narrowly dropped the #3 matchup 7-5, 7-6. The #4 contest was the first to break the way of Alma, with Festerling scoring a 6-0, 6-0 victory. #5 saw Beyers winning 6-4, 6-3, and
Jacob McNew won 6-2, 3-6, 10-8 to close things out at #6.
For the women, Alma took two in doubles play to take the team point. The paring of
Karly Kushner and
Leah Wronikowski won 6-1 at #1. The #2 duo of
Izzy Troost and
Kayden Alli won 6-2. At #3, the team of
Holly Hall and
Mellany Hall lost 6-3.
Moving to singles play, Kushner won 6-3, 7-5 at #1. At #2, Wronikowski won 6-2, 3-6, 10-7.
Holly Hall won at #3 by scores of 6-2, 6-4.
Sophia Hauffe claimed the win at #4, 6-1, 6-1. The only loss that Alma suffered in singles play was at #5, where Alli went down swinging by scores of 4-6, 6-3, 13-11. Rounding things out at #6, Troost won 6-2, 6-2.
The Scots are done for the Fall, and look forward to the Spring of 2026.
