ADRIAN, Mich. – The Alma College Men's Basketball team opened the 2025 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) schedule with a trip to Adrian College. Despite a competitive effort, the Scots fell to the Bulldogs, 65-52, in the Merillat Center.
In the first half, Alma kept pace with Adrian in a back-and-forth opening half. The Scots held a brief lead of 5-3 early in the game, thanks to a
Logan St. Martin three-pointer. Alma continued to trade baskets with Adrian, led by
Josh Elliott's steady scoring. The Bulldogs were able to capitalize on second-chance opportunities and went into the halftime break trailing 34-27.
The second half saw Adrian extend their lead as Alma struggled offensively, shooting just 28.6% from the field in the period. The Bulldogs took advantage of turnovers and points in the paint, building a double-digit lead. Alma made several attempts to close the gap, with
Paul Gadde grabbing eight rebounds and scoring key buckets. However, the Bulldogs' balanced attack, led by Braylon Dickerson's 16 points, proved too much for the Scots to overcome.
Elliott led Alma in scoring with 11 points, followed by St. Martin with 10. Gadde contributed nine points and a team-high eight rebounds, while
Donovan Collins added six points and three assists.
Alma will travel to DeVos Fieldhouse on Saturday, January 11, to take on Hope College. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
