Oberlin, OH – Alma College Volleyball took part in day 2 action at the Oberlin Volleyball Tournament. The Scots were dispatched by Grove City in straight sets.
The opening set went back and forth, with neither side able to pull away. That was until GCC was able to rip off a 6-0 run, which compounded into a 12-2 run that ended the set at 25-17. The second set opened with 7 straight points for Grove City, as Alma struggled to slow the momentum. The Scots were able to pull off a few small runs of their own, but it wasn't enough to pull them back into things, dropping the set 25-13. In the third, the Scots were able to battle to a 10-10 mark, but fell victim to a solid rotation for GCC that was able to pull off another huge run, 15-2, that ended the game.
Nevea Bush landed 7 kills to lead the offense.
Madison Bott added 4 kills to go with 2 aces and 6 digs.
Callie Smith totaled 7 points on 4 kills, 2 aces, and a block.
Vicky Villarosa collected a double-double in the loss, compiling 12 digs and 11 assists.
Grace Steiner also added 7 digs.
