

Livonia, Mich. – Alma College Women's Soccer took to their first away contest of the season on Wednesday, September 4th against the Madonna Crusaders. The Crusaders controlled the contest from start to finish cruising to a 6-1 victory.
Madonna would start the scoring early with a goal 11 minutes into the match. The Crusaders would have two shots blocked and two shots saved by keeper
Mya Pofahl before finding the back of the net for a second time at the 22-minute mark, making the score 2-0. Madonna would score another goal at the 37-minute mark to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Crusaders carried their first half momentum into the next period by netting two shots in the first 10 minutes of the second half to make the score 5-0 with 36 minutes left to play. Alma would score their lone point of the match at the 60-minute mark after an assist on a corner kick by
Jacqueline Daigneault was headed by
Breanna McCluskey from the middle of the box over the goalkeepers outstretched arms for a highlight reel goal. This would make the score 5-1, but the Crusaders stayed on the attack and scored another goal 3 minutes before the second half would expire to bring the final score to 6-1 in favor of the home team.

Bryn Bishop, and
Emily Ahearn each recorded a shot on goal to go along with the amazing header from McCluskey assisted by Daigneault.
The Scots will look to bounce back after falling to a 0-2 record on Saturday, September 7th, when they take on Kenyon College in Gambier, OH.
