Women's Soccer Bested by Lawrence Tech

ALMA, Mich. – Alma College Women's Soccer returned to Scotland Yard on Wednesday, September 11th to take on Lawrence Technological University (Mich). The Blue Devils held the Scots scoreless in a 3-0 victory.

Alma looked to attack early, achieving two corner kicks within the first 6 minutes of match action. Although no shots were attempted, the Scots tried to set themselves up for offensive success. It would be Lawrence Tech, however, that would strike first with a goal at the 22nd minute mark after a field switch set up a double assist. Ten minutes later, the Blue Devils would find the back of the net again to make the score 2-0, which is where the match stood going into halftime.

The Scots defense held strong for most of the second half, defending 13 shots with only three being on goal, before Lawrence Tech would eventually score with nine minutes left to play to improve their lead to 3-0. Not much was doing for Alma on offense who's only shot on goal came from Anna Waterstredt 33 seconds before the final horn would sound.

Mya Pofahl, Hannah Meyer, Grace Buckingham, Bryn Bishop, Emily Ahearn, Hannah Abner, Kylie Lewis, and Waterstredt each played the full 90 minutes of match time.

Alma will look to kick start some momentum when they take on Mount Vernon Nazarenne University (OH) on Saturday, September 21st.
