Alma, MI – Alma College Men's Tennis opened their MIAA season against Kalamazoo College on Friday evening. The Scots were defeated 9-0 by Kalamazoo.
 
Ashton Trnka and Jake Lasceski narrowly missed on a win at #1 doubles, falling 8-6. Walker Michaels and Caleb Schuring lost 8-1 at #2, and the pairing of John Laxton and Tatenda Mukudu met a similar fate at #3 doubles. Kalamazoo led 3-0 going into singles play.
 
Lasceski lost via retirement at #1 singles. Schuring and Noah Festerling both lost 6-0, 6-0 at #2 and #3 singles. Mukudu was defeated 6-2, 7-5 at #4 singles. Trnka was felled by score of 6-2, 6-3, and Michaels was dropped 6-2, 6-4 at #6 singles.
 
The Scots start 0-1 in MIAA play, and are back in action at home against Hope tomorrow.
