ALMA, Mich. – The Alma College men's lacrosse team took advantage of the sunny Sunday afternoon to play host to Albion College on Bahlke Field. The Scots were outmatched as the Britons came away with a 22-5 win in conference play.
Albion jumped out of the gate scoring the first seven goals before Lucas Storm broke the ice for Alma and put the Scots on the board. Albion would tack on one more in the first quarter before adding another three to start the second before Alma's MJ Humphreys scored the Scots second of the day. In the third quarter, Drew Gulick found the back of the net becoming the third different goal scorer for the Scots in as many goals. Humphreys would score the final two Alma goals for the day as Albion ultimately kept the Scots far enough away to come away with their second win of the weekend.
Patrick Hodges and Dylan Smith tied for the team high in ground balls with six. Connor Cracium ended up leading the Scots on defense with two caused turnovers as well. Thomas Burns held the crease down for the full-time as he went on to make 23 saves in the game, a season-high for the senior goalie.
Alma will hit the road for their next contest as they will take on Calvin University on Friday, April 19th. The game will begin at 7:00 PM, following the conclusion of the women's lacrosse game.
