CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Alma College men's lacrosse team traveled to Indiana for a date against the Wabash College Little Giants on Wednesday, February 28th. The Scots were outmatched by their solid opponent and were defeated by a final score of 20-5.

The Little Giants opened the game with six unanswered goals to take a hefty lead right away, before the Scots got on the board. Just under eight minutes, Lucas Storm broke the ice for Alma, giving the Scots their lone goal of the quarter. Alma was able to tally another goal in the second from Kevin Koenn with an assist from Cole Pearson, but Wabash added four in the second and took a 13-2 lead into halftime.

Alma was able to tally two in the third with the first coming from Koenn once again also assisted by Pearson. Koenn would score the hat trick goal in the third on a man-up opportunity, giving Alma their fourth of the game. The Scots also scored the lone goal of the fourth quarter as Koenn tallied his fourth of the game on a feed from Storm, giving him his second highest goal total in a game for his career.

Koenn led the team with four points on the night as Pearson and Storm followed behind with two points each. Drew Gulick scooped up five ground balls for the team high and Brenner Quick caused two turnovers to help lead the defense. Thomas Burns started the game between the pipes and played a majority of the game saving 10 shots. Preston Stelljes saw action as well and tallied two saves in the game. The Scots went 13-13 in the game on clear attempts, as well as causing Wabash to turn the ball over 21 times throughout the game.

Alma will now have a short break from games before hosting the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) on Tuesday, March 12th, on Bahlke Field. The game is set for a 7:00 PM start time under the lights.
