Women's Soccer Takes on Hope College

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Alma College Women's Soccer team faced a tough challenge against Hope College on Saturday, October 5th, at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. Despite their efforts, the Scots couldn't slow down a red-hot Flying Dutch team, falling 5-0.

Hope took control early, scoring their first goal 11 minutes into the match. 16 minutes later, the Flying Dutch expanded their lead to 2-0. Alma struggled to generate offensive opportunities in the first half and went into the break without recording a shot attempt.

The second half mirrored the first as Hope continued to apply pressure. They added goals at the 57th, 61st, and 78th minutes, keeping Alma's offense at bay. The Scots managed only two shots on goal, both from Anna Waterstredt, while goalkeeper Mya Pofahl recorded a season-high in saves with 14.

Alma will host Adrian College next on Tuesday, October 8th, at 4 pm at Scotland Yard for the Alma PAL game.
