Men's Soccer Narrowly Drops 2-0 Decision to Trine

Alma. MI - Alma College Men's Soccer fell 2-0 to Trine University in a tough matchup on Wednesday, October 16th, at Scotland Yard. Despite creating chances, the Scots were unable to find the back of the net during the match.

The match started off with intensity, but the Scots struggled to finish their scoring opportunities. The direct style of play from the Scots created multiple opportunities, but the Trine defense disrupted the final ball or the shot going towards the net. Trine took the lead in the 22nd minute. The Scots fought hard to equalize but could not fully break through the Trine defense.

In the second half, Alma continued to battle but was unable to convert their chances. Trine would ultimately double their lead in the 56th minute. Despite the deficit, the Scots maintained pressure, recording four shots with two of them being on target and a third narrowly went wide of the goal post.

Alma's strong defensive positioning and communication limited Trine's goal scoring opportunities. Goalkeeper, Grant Kaifas, made two saves throughout the match on the four shots the Scots faced.

Alma will look to regroup as they prepare to travel to face Adrian College on October 18th at 4 pm, where they are seeking to snap their current skid. With a record of 8-5-1 and 0-3-0 in MIAA play, the Scots are eager to turn things around and get hot at down the stretch of MIAA play.
