Albion, MI – Alma College Volleyball traveled to Albion College in MIAA conference play on Tuesday night. The Scots were swept by the Crusaders, 25-16, 25-18, 25-22.
The opening set was a game of runs, with both teams taking the lead at different points throughout the set. Albion led 16-14, and the Brits were able to pull out a decisive 7-2 run to swing the set in their favor, going on to win 25-16. The second set saw the teams narrowly separated, but a pair of 4-point runs by the home side proved to be the difference, as Albion won 25-18. In the third, the Scots were able to work their way to an 18-13 advantage, but Albion would spark a 13-4 run that would see them win the set 25-22.
Callie Smith landed 8 kills and an ace, and
Reagan Thorr picked up 6.
Katelyn Schell tallied 4 kills to go with 3 total blocks.
Olivia Deeb collected 21 set assists and s team high 12 digs.
Grace Steiner recorded 11 digs.
Alma is back in action on the road Saturday against the The University of Olivet in MIAA action.
